Why Numa Counseling & Coaching Exists

Numa was founded after witnessing a common, painful pattern: caring, intelligent couples gradually drifting apart because they lacked the tools to navigate conflict together. We help partners break repetitive cycles and restore connection so they stop feeling increasingly isolated.

We specialize in marriage and couples therapy—this is our primary focus. From your first visit, whether virtual or in person, you'll find a calm, structured, and hopeful environment that supports honest conversation and meaningful progress.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

From the moment you reach out, we honor the courage it takes to ask for help. Sessions are paced thoughtfully, with clear structure and space for both partners to be heard.

Sessions move at the pace of your nervous system, not a rushed agenda. We slow down conflict, notice what is happening inside each partner, and build new patterns of reaching and responding that feel safer over time.

We begin by establishing emotional safety, not with communication skills. We build the safety that can hold space for the communication skills needed to create stronger intimacy in a marriage

A Gentle, Structured Path Back to Each Other

We combine evidence-based frameworks with an emotionally safe space so you can discuss difficult issues without causing further harm.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

We help you identify patterns that underlie conflicts so you can move from blame and shutdown toward repair and deeper connection.

Gottman-Informed Tools

We use decades of Gottman Institute research to reduce criticism and defensiveness and to strengthen respect, fondness, and shared meaning.

Safety, Not Sides

We do not take sides. We advocate for your relationship, ensuring each partner feels seen, understood, and equally supported throughout the process.

The Origin Story of Numa

Numa was born out of a season of pain in 2017. I had just been let go from a ministry position, and with no clear direction for what to do next, God gave me the vision for Numa. I accepted the assignment, but I did not truly believe in it. It took nearly eight years before I was ready to start believing in this calling. During that time, I served on staff at another church, worked for two different practices, took a job at a daycare, washed cars for a dealership, and even started another practice. I thought it was all part of God's plan, but in reality, it was me avoiding submission and obedience to the vision God had given me. Through more pain and struggle, I finally acknowledged that I had been running and accepted what God had for me in Numa. In 2021, after spending time on staff at a church, God called me to refocus my energy on counseling. While helping a friend develop his practice, God began placing it on my heart to give Numa my full attention. In 2022, I redirected my focus back to Numa. Later that year, Numa joined a naturopathic practice to begin offering those services as part of its mission. Two and a half years later, God pressed me once again to return to the place He had called me all those years ago. This time, I am ready because I have learned how to be. Welcome to the Numa practice. This is a place I once didn't believe I was worthy to start. It took eight years of God working on me to bring me here so I can now help others believe differently

Counselor representing the story of Numa practice

Numa is the fruit of years of refinement, surrender, and learning to trust the calling that would not go away.

An Integrative Framework for Body, Soul, and Spirit

Numa offers a mind-body-spirit lens that honors your whole story—physical, emotional, and spiritual.

We will assess the body, the soul, and spirit to see where change needs to happen to walk in harmony with heaven. Numa offers a mind-body connection that creates space for validation. It is through this validation that we can invite God's presence, allowing integration to take place. One of the most destructive patterns in humanity is disintegration caused by invalidation. The body, mind, and spirit begin to function independently rather than in harmony, and when this happens, anger and anxiety can arise, along with other difficult emotions, thoughts, and beliefs. These are the areas we seek to assess, process, and express in order to move forward. The Body: They body is the external and internal structure that houses the soul and spirit. The soul and spirit have a significant impact on the body. We will explore the ways your body may be crying out for help through pain. We will listen to the body to understand the message it is communicating and what it is asking for, so that it can return to a state of harmony. The Soul: The soul is composed of the mind, will, emotions, and imagination. While there is ore to the soul, these are the areas we focus on most. The mind relates to how we think. The will reflects how we choose. Emotions express how we feel. We will assess the entanglements and attachments that may be causing problems. The Spirit: Spiritual beings need an invitation to take residence, which is why agreement is so important in Scripture. Everything we do and say has the potential to come into agreement with one of two kingdoms. We will examine bloodline curses, iniquities, willful sin, and areas of alignment with the kingdom of darkness to understand how these agreements may be causing entanglements in the soul and problems in your life.

Portrait of Brady G. Daniel, MA, LPC-S

A man with two left feet, unable to move in the direction I was called to because I couldn't get out of my own way. I turned to sports until I got hurt, to academics until it wasn't enough, and to the church until I was crushed by the very place that once taught me truth. Through this journey, I learned how the mind and body work together, and I’ve been teaching it as I’ve been learning how to walk it out myself. I love how psychology and theology intersect, and witnessing the transformation of people who start believing differently, especially in themselves. I help people find their message and how to get it into them so that it starts to impact them. What do you believe, and how is it working for you?

Brady G. Daniel, MA, LPC-S Brady has practiced counseling for 19 years, specializing in marriage and relationship therapy, anxiety, anger, and spiritual identity. He has extensive experience working with men, women, helping professionals, and faith leaders, helping clients recognize and change patterns that affect their well‑being. Brady uses an integrative, holistic approach that attends to the body, mind, and spirit. He meets clients where they are and walks alongside them as they take their next steps toward healing and growth. A native Texan, Brady earned a B.S. in Human Development and Family Science from Oklahoma State University (2004) and an M.A. in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University (2006). - Previous Client

Is it too late for counseling to help our relationship?

We support couples at many stages, from those who feel mildly stuck to partners considering separation. It’s rarely too late when both people are willing to engage honestly and try new ways of relating. In the first sessions we’ll clarify what’s keeping you stuck and set clear, measurable goals so we know what we’re working toward.

Do you work with dating, engaged, or unmarried couples?

Yes. We regularly support couples who are dating, engaged, living together, or unmarried. Early support helps you build healthy patterns and reduces the need to untangle resentment later. We tailor our approach to your relationship stage and your specific hopes for the future.

Do you offer faith-informed counseling?

We are not a strictly faith-based practice, but we welcome integrating spiritual or religious values into the work when that is important to you. We also regularly work with couples who do not identify with any faith tradition.

Every relationship deserves a safe harbor.

If you’re weary of repeating the same conflicts and want calmer, more honest conversations, we would be honored to support you and your partner on that path.

We offer in-person sessions in Southlake and secure telehealth for couples throughout Texas.
